Air Tindi is expanding its services to offset flight gaps when Northwester Air Lease stops its services in Fort Smith after January 15, 2025. Air Tindi will offer flights from Fort Smith, Yellowknife, Fort Chipewyan, and Edmonton. Air Tindi reported a shortage of flight crew and maintenance engineers, citing retirements during the COVID-19 pandemic and a lack of younger employees to fill the gaps.
