The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have announced an agreement to enhance school programs for 90K children in over 1K schools across the province. The Government of Canada will be providing about $39.4M over the next three years to support the expansion. These funds will go towards expanding the number of students served, purchasing equipment and increasing menu options.

District 60 had a substantial shortage of substitute teachers in 2023 which is expected to continue this school year. The district has also tried to hire a psychologist for several years without success.
