Melfort Housing Authority provides affordable housing to seniors, families, and others, who could not otherwise access safe, secure shelter within Melfort and the neighboring communities. The Housing Authority has a seasonal opportunity for a self-motivated, results oriented Groundskeeper and Maintenance Worker to join the team for the busy summer months from May through to October 2025. If you are a fresh air enthusiast and love working outdoors this is the position for you! Responsibilities vary day to day and include mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, cleaning eaves and some exterior and interior painting at the Housing Authority's five main properties. You can also expect to assist the team with custodial work including cleaning units and maintenance related tasks, as required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum Grade 12, or equivalent, supplemented by related grounds keeping experience.Knowledge of and experience using groundskeeping equipment, hand and power tools.Positive personal presentation and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, efficiency, time management and good judgment.Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work amongst tenants and the public.Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and meet deadlines.Recognition of, and respect for, people's diversity.A reliable vehicle and cell phone are required. This is a full time, seasonal position to work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week; one weekend/month to participate in weekend rotation work.The position is expected to start as soon as possible for an expected term from May 1, 2025 through to October 31, 2025.
