*Industrial Spray Painter*
Please see the job description below which outlines the key duties and responsibilities as an Industrial Painter for Blastman Coatings Ltd.
*Reports To:* Production Manager and Supervisor
*Role and Responsibilities:*
The Industrial Painter/Crane Operator responsibility will be to ensure that the department is running smoothly and as efficiently as possible to meet company standards. Furthermore, the major role is to oversee that projects are done in a timely manner with the highest quality and limited amount of rework if necessary. The Painter/Operator should have a strong leadership background and must understand the importance of communicating, accountability and organization. This individual should also have a vast knowledge of surface preparation (SSPC) and coating (NACE/SSPC) standards. The Industrial Painter/Crane Operator will also be assisting the Supervisor, Administration and other personnel. It is the responsibility of the Industrial Painter/Crane Operator to communicate with fellow employees and inform the supervisor with any concerns or updates.
*Key Duties & Responsibilities include:*
* Ability to follow Supervisor?s directions and perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
* Can proficiently operate a variety of hand and spray painting equipment (airless, air-assisted, conventional, electrostatic, pressurized air spray, high volume-low pressure, brush or roller).
* Ability to work on scaffolding, staging, platforms, ladders, and man lifts at heights, confined space, etc.
* Operate cranes/hoists to transport or position large/small parts as required for setup.
* Performing preventative maintenance to equipment to include cleaning, checking, and replacing worn or broken components, and as needed assist in troubleshooting malfunctions. Perform required cleaning and scheduled maintenance tasks of the paint booth and maintain updated maintenance records.
* Mix paint while ensuring proper manufactures identification and color codes meet the customer's specifications.
* Maintain and meet surface preparation (SSPC) and coating (NACE/SSPC) standards.
* Full understanding of coating technology and terminology.
* Knowledge and ability to prepare surfaces in accordance with NACE/SSPC standards.
* Prepare various workpieces to be painted (taping, grinding, sanding and deburring).
* Spray with consistent millage and measure coating film thicknesses wet/dry as required by job specifications (epoxy, polyurethane, and high solids coatings)
* Maintain stock of paint, supplies and other related equipment required.
* Paint booth experience and the equipment knowledge.
* Able to read and understand work orders.
* Maintain a clean work environment in all areas of the shop.
* Load/ unloading of trucks for drop-offs and deliveries.
* Report deficiencies to the production supervisor
* Requires to cross-train other employees
* Flexible work schedule; ability to work overtime
