Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Office. Various locations. Transportation, communication and utilities. Tasks: Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures. Direct and control daily operations . Direct staff. Evaluate daily operations . Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations . Train staff. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Oversee the classification and rating of occupations. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Manage training and development strategies. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of inspection and investigation: Sanitary conditions. Pollution monitoring programs. Workplace. Work related accidents. Area of specialization: Business process management. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
