<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>In this position you will provide support and expertise to managers and supervisors to manage on a wide range of day-to-day and complex HR issues for approximately 60 unionized staff, and 10 non-union staff.</p><p> </p><p>The person in this role will enjoy a high degree of autonomy and self-direction with access to resources and advice from HR and LR specialists from the Community Social Services Employer's Association of BC.</p><p> </p><p>Approximate breakdown of time spent on various functions: Recruiting 15%. Investigations 25%. Advising on and supporting performance and attendance management, 25%.. Advising on and supporting the disciplinary process, 20%.. Administrative, 15%.</p><p> </p><p>This is a great opportunity for a Generalist to take the next step in their career!</p><p> </p><p><strong>Position Title</strong>: Human Resources Manager</p><p><strong>Reports to</strong>: Executive Director.</p><p><strong>Position Classification</strong>: Management, exempt.</p><p><strong>Job Typ</strong>e: Regular, Full Time, 37.5 to 40 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Probation period</strong>: 487.5 hours</p><p><strong>Work Options</strong>: On-site. Occasional remote work may be possible with agreement from the Executive Director. Work hours are typically 8am to 3:30 or 4 pm, but this is flexible.</p><p><strong>Wage Range</strong>: $33 to $35 per hour.</p><p><strong>Benefits and Pension</strong>: after successful completion of the probationary period.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p><p>• University degree, or diploma, in HR and two years of recent, related experience. <strong>Or, </strong>university degree or diploma in any discipline and five years of recent related experience,. <strong>Or</strong>, secondary school diploma and eight years of recent, related experience.</p><p>• CPHR designation completed or in progress is an asset.</p><p>• Experience providing consultative advice and expertise on HR matters to managers and supervisors in a unionized environment in each of the areas of:</p><p>o Performance and probation management.</p><p>o Attendance management.</p><p>o Investigations.</p><p>o Discipline.</p><p>o Grievances.</p><p>o Complaints.</p><p>• Experience interpreting HR legislation, policies, and procedures, and terms and conditions of employment.</p><p>• Experience interpreting collective agreements.</p><p>• Experience recruiting, selecting, and onboarding employees.</p><p>• Basic to intermediate understand of payroll best practices and legislation. Experience using Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset.</p><p>• Create and maintain training and orientation documents.</p><p>• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:</strong></p><p>• Experience organizing and preparing grievance file documentation, preparation of matters for arbitration or other dispute resolution areas and drafting reports and correspondence.</p><p>• Experience in conflict management.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Cover letter</strong> - NOT REQUIRED</p><p><strong>Resume </strong>- REQUIRED.
