Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. All weather conditions. Work setting: Garden centre. Greenhouse. Nursery - horticulture. Tasks: Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and move trees. Provide customer service. Area of specialization: Landscape design. Plant knowledge and identification. Horticulture. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish between colours. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Client focus.
