Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Spanish; Castilian. Work site environment: All weather conditions. Work setting: Work in employer's/client's home. Various locations. Landscape contractor. Residential. Private company, corporation or industry. Municipal government. Tasks: Build models. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Plan the incorporation of landscape structures. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Manage landscaping projects. Prepare conceptual designs. Prepare proposals. Estimate costs. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Write specifications. Survey and assess designated sites. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Assess the health of lawns. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Horticulturist Trade Certification. Landscape Gardener Trade Certification. Landscape Architecture Technologist Certificate. Landscape Architecture Technician Certificate. Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification. Computer and technology knowledge: SketchUp. Landscaping experience: Residential projects. Commercial and/or industrial construction. Park and recreation sites. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Landscape design. Landscape construction. Horticultural consulting. Plant knowledge and identification. Horticulture. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
