Located in Mississauga, Ontario, we are a leading developer and manufacturer of quality private label food products with distribution across Canada, the USA, and South America. We are looking for a highly driven, self-starting individual who has had prior work experience in food manufacturing, consumer care products, or batch processing industries to be part of our growing team at *Celtrade*.
As a *Sr Accountant*, will be responsible for the following areas of financial reporting including Inventory and AP. He or she will develop and maintain accounting principles, best practices, and systems for analyzing and reporting information. Must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The General Accountant will complete financial schedules, reconciliations and advise on ad hoc reporting on departmental spends. He or she will also be responsible for helping with audit and ledger preparation.
*Key responsibilities and accountabilities:*
*Costing*
* Application of Costing Model to new products proposed by Sales and R&D
* Maintenance of Costing Model to ensure accuracy of costing to standards.
* Analyzing pricing and margins of products and defining optimal price points
* Maintenance of material master and bill of material in the ERP system and ensuring accuracy of the data
*Fixed Assets*
* Maintain continuity schedule
* Ensure all projects have proper authorizations
* Track actual versus budget
*Month End Process*
* Ensure timeliness of schedule
* Ensure accuracy of journal entries
* Prepare accruals
* Prepare month end reconciliations and analyses
* File HST returns
* Monthly Report to Statistic Canada and to CDC
*Year End Process and Audit*
* Assist with preparation of year end working files
* Follow and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
* Assist with year end budgeting process under the guidance of the Director of Director
* Other projects and duties as assigned
*Accounts Payable (Backup)*
* Assist with AP when required
* Verify account codes for expenditures
*Inventory (Backup)*
* Make inventory adjustments in Deacom
* Prepare invemto0rt reconciliations with 3PL warehouses
*Qualifications: *
Bachelor?s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or in related fields.
5+ years experience in the manufacturing industry, in a related position
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
