Position Title: Line Mechanic Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Grand Falls Requisition ID: 33769 Full Line MechanicJob DescriptionJob Title: Line Mechanic Department: Grand Falls SL4 LineReports to: Maintenance SupervisorPurpose: To ensure the proper operation of Line Equipment, from Potato Receiving to Palletizing as well as building maintenance.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training requirements.Must be a licensed Industrial Mechanic or enrolled in the Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship program.The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible of providing safety, GMP, HACCP, environmental, equipment, software, or any other required training, as needed. Safety requirements: Attend Safety TalksFollow Lockout / Tag-Out procedures and all McCain Safety PoliciesWear appropriate PPE and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Work safe and promote a safe working environment to fellow employeesComplete Job Safety Plans / Recognize safety hazards and correct themJob responsibilities:Carry out duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and Planner/SchedulerComplete scheduled work and Preventive Maintenance (PM) workTroubleshoot and repair equipment problems Use the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for processing work orders and preventative maintenance tasks. Technically Complete (TECO) work orders and enter confirmation comments in SAP.Identify equipment malfunctions and create Notifications in SAP to have issues addressed.Create Emergency or Reactive work orders to complete unplanned jobs.Maintain shop and follow good housekeeping practices (5S)Complete Hot Works PermitsFollow McCain maintenance, HACCP and Environmental programs such as "Temporary Repairs", "Sanitation after Maintenance", Waste Management and Recycling (Waste Oil Disposal), etc.Must be able and willing to perform shift work: 12 hrs shifts (nights/days) and/or straight days at managements discretion. Must be able and willing to come in on days off during Sanitation days and Shutdowns NOTE: This description constitutes the minimum requirements for a Shift Mechanic.
