1. *POSITION OVERVIEW*
The Quality Control Technician will assist the food safety team and have the ability to learn and maintain the food safety system, and regulatory requirement for Canada, United States, and any other exporting countries of Soo Jerky Ltd. The QC technician must conduct themselves professionally, having good communication skills, tactful attributes and team building skills to protect the interest of all stakeholders.
2. *KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS*
The QC technician is responsible for complying to all food safety and quality demands as set by the government regulatory bodies, customers, and inhouse requirements at Soo Jerky Ltd.
*Key Accountabilities*
· Monitor the water activity (AW) of the product being packed for the day to ensure all products AW is within food safety limit.
· Conduct daily Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and production inspections, weekly equipment verification and monthly facility inspections.
· Review and verify production records to ensure Critical Control Point (CCP) has met and no food safety risk before finished products are shipped out.
· Responsible for monitoring and verifying the food safety system to ensure the system is implemented as written.
· Responsible for preparing pre-shipment review documents for export papers and conducting on-site inspection on export skids.
· Responsible for inspecting the condition of materials upon receiving and finished products before shipping.
· Responsible for filing and organizing all food safety related records.
· Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
· Other additional tasks as assigned.
*3. COMPETENCIES (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Education, Ability)*
· Bachelor?s Degree in Food Science, Biology or equivalent
· Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures
· Proficiency with Microsoft software is required
· Ability to work in team setting or independently with minimum supervision
· Good analytical and logical problem-solving skills
· Strong organizational skills.
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Strong conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to handle stressful situations
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work flexible hours and accept additional responsibilities as needed
· Exceptional reliability
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
