Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Urban area. Hospital/health care establishment/health institution. Tasks: Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists and other professionals. Provide advice to senior managers and officials. Conduct biostatistical data analysis using computer modelling techniques. Produce reports. Conduct molecular or biochemical studies and experiments in genetic expression, gene manipulation and recombinant DNA technology to develop new or alternative methods of producing products. Conduct research into the structure and functioning of human, animal and plant tissues and cells. Conduct studies into the identification, effects and control of human, plant and animal pathogens and toxins. Prepare research papers, educational texts or articles. Supervision: Working groups. Staff in various areas of responsibility. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Vulnerable sector check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
