Taiga Building Products ? Burnaby, BC has an immediate opening for a Junior Financial Analyst position at our head office. We are seeking someone pursuing their CPA designation with at least 1-2 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role within a fast-paced environment. Experience in manufacturing or distribution settings is preferred. The successful candidate will work closely with divisional managers and senior leadership to provide accurate financial reporting, analysis, and support for decision-making processes. We are a public company, listed on the TSX, we are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to our employees. *Key Responsibilities:* * Prepare and post month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries. * Differentiate capitalized versus expensed purchases for proper accounting. * Prepare and post Fixed Asset additions and depreciation in the system. * Provide guidance to Accounts Payable team on proper coding of invoices. * Prepare account reconciliations and analysis. * Being the contact person for accounting issues arising from assigned branches and distribution centers (act similar to a divisional controller). * Reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations. * Reviewing and analyzing summary reports and source data to ensure linkage between the ERP system and financial reporting system. * Performing analytical reviews of branches and divisions on a monthly basis. * Assisting with various audit and tax reporting requirements. * Prepare various consolidated reports for financial reporting. * Creating detailed reports/process memos when investigation, validation and documentation of accounting transactions are performed. * Coordinating with other areas/departments wherever overlap exists to streamline workflows by developing efficient procedures/communications. * Making recommendations to streamline workflows by utilizing new technologies to automate tasks and reporting. * Coordinating and completing special projects and ad hoc tasks as needed. *Skills & Qualifications* * Pursuing a CPA designation. * At least 1-2 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. * Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management. * Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. * Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel. * Experience with SAP, Great Plains (GP), and BisTrack systems is considered an asset. * Proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports. * Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. * Ability to communicate effectively with various teams, including senior leadership and divisional managers. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make recommendations for process improvements. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of audit and tax reporting requirements is an asset. * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. *How to Apply:* If you?re eager to contribute to a growing team and enhance our accounting processes, we encourage you to apply with a cover letter, resume, and salary expectation referencing ?Junior Financial Analyst? to hr@taigabuilding.com.
