<p>Hello ! I'm Gabriel, Recruitment Consultant for Fed Supply, an employment agency specializing in supply chain, logistics, transportation and customer service - offering temporary and permanent jobs in the Greater Montreal area. Our team of Supply Chain and Logistics experts speaks your language and operates in your world.</p><p>We are assisting one of our customers in the distribution sector, located in the west end of Montreal, in their search for a Purchaser - Ceramics.</p><p>Reporting to the Procurement Director, the incumbent will maintain good relations with suppliers, while optimizing overall purchasing costs. He/she is responsible for ensuring sound management of inventory levels in order to maximize sales opportunities while controlling risks. He also supports continuous improvement efforts in the procurement process.</p><p>Responsibilities :</p><p>▪Assure the integrity of the product database.<br>▪Support product introduction process, including product coding, and ensure transition into management mode for these new products.<br>▪Follow up on supplier price list updates and inform Finance; maintain price watch, in case of substantial increase notify Procurement Manager.<br>▪Perform product coding including product data parameters.<br>▪Ensure and measure healthy stock rotation; analyze inventory levels, identify surpluses and make recommendations (liquidation) i.e. manage inventory obsolescence by suggesting products to be discontinued and communicating them to the Product Manager.<br>▪In collaboration with the Product Manager, analyze, support and suggest products to be discontinued/liquidated and execute decisions made by the Product Committee.<br>▪With the support of the Supervisor, determine management parameters in order to make recommendations for regular products based on their provenance and particularities in order to maximize the company's profitability.<br>▪Issue purchase orders to ensure an excellent level of customer service.<br>▪Enter delivery dates confirmed by suppliers into the computer system.<br>▪Communicate item list information with supplier with purchase forecasts.<br>▪Monitor and ensure product availability for products with forecasts.<br>▪Communicate if there are replenishment issues.<br>▪Analyze "back orders" to avoid stock-outs.<br>▪Respond to questions from the sales department (availability, cost, local search, technical specifications for existing products).<br>▪Special customer requests-Follow price list data for conversions (tile cutting).<br>▪Bring in samples of new products (new product ranges) and inform product managers.<br>▪Effect containerization of goods, assessing profitability, and follow up on import documents.<br>▪Participate in the processing of claims files with suppliers and carry out supplier evaluations.</p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>▪DEC or equivalent experience.<br>▪Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.<br>▪Ability to multi-task in an organized manner (multi-tasking environment).<br>▪Excellent negotiator and analytical skills.<br>▪Ability to work effectively under pressure.<br>▪Excellent judgment, initiative, communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and a developed sense of teamwork.<br>▪Superior organizational and time management skills to be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.<br>▪Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).<br>▪Knowledge of SAP management systems an asset.<br>▪Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English).</p><p>The use of English is required for the following reasons:</p><p>-Communication with international customers<br>-Collaboration with English-speaking partners<br>-Drafting documents in English</p><p><br>PROCESS: Initial interview with Gabriel Lemoine, Fed Supply Recruitm
