<p> <p>Secondment - Balance of the 2024/2025 School Year <p> <p>POSITION: Learning Partner (Elementary) <p>FTE: 1.0 <p>LOCATION: TBD (support is provided across the UCDSB) <p>NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 <p> <p>Summary: <p> <p>Under the direction of the System Principal of Safe Schools, the Learning Partner will work with elementary school administrators and teachers to develop, implement, and support school staff to promote school-wide engagement and participation in sport. The Learning Partner will plan for and deliver professional learning in the UCDSB. Recognizing the connections between student achievement and well-being, the Learning Partner will build educator capacity to support students and encourage them to make healthy choices, to seek active participation in sport, and to learn about the benefits of programs that reflect physical literacy. The Learning Partner position is intended to build capacity in the system by way of supporting teachers and administrators in clusters of schools and sharing the acquired learning while in this role. <p><p> <p> <p> <p>Responsibilities: <p> <p><p> <p><p> Support schools to develop a school culture and build capacity to offer students the opportunity to participate in athletic and recreational activities, regardless of skill or fitness level.<p> Support schools in the implementation of well-constructed intramural/ recreation program and a shared vision that reflects a wide range of activities that promote fun, fitness and cooperative participation in either a non-competitive or friendly competitive atmosphere.<p> Support schools in the promotion of intramural/recreation programs as important and effective vehicles for developing active living within the education and recreation communities.<p> Co-facilitate school learning teams with school principals.<p> Co-plan and co-teach with classroom educators.<p> Assist teachers in implementing practices that reflect the tenants of healthy and active living, increased participation for all students, and practices that encourage students to get involved in sports for fun. <p> Co-plan and co-organize learning opportunities for students <p><p> <p>Knowledge/Skills: <p><p> Demonstrates knowledge of effective pedagogy and instructional practices in physical literacy and fundamental movements. <p> Demonstrates broad knowledge of effective pedagogy and classroom practices that directly impact student wellness, and engagement <p> Demonstrates knowledge of equitable and inclusive education practices and understand the barriers that students face in sports and active living. <p> Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of classroom implementation of effective, engaging instruction across all skill levels<p> Demonstrates a growth mindset<p> Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the Ontario curriculum<p> Demonstrates excellent organizational, presentation and time management skills<p> Demonstrates exemplary interpersonal, facilitation, and team building skills<p> Demonstrates strong initiative skills<p> Follows the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession<p> Understands professional learning and its impact on student learning<p> Effectively communicates and works collaboratively with all education stakeholders<p><p> <p>Qualifications: <p><p><p> An Ontario Teacher?s Certificate of Qualification<p> <p> <p> Qualifications in Physical and Health Education (Specialist preferred)<p><p><p> Hold Qualifications in 2 divisions<p><p><p> French as a Second Language is an asset<p><p><p> Minimum of 5 years teaching experience<p><p><p> Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing<p><p><p> <p>Conditions: <p><p> Salary - Grid plus travel allowance<p> Term - Balance of the 2024/2025 school year (at the end of the term, returns to home school, where applicable)<p> Travel to various locations may be required<p><p> <p>To<p>apply: <p>Please<p>attach a covering letter and resume indicating your experience and areas of<p>teachi
