Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research. We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians. In alignment with the Provincial Health Accord, NL Health Services will be replacing Meditech Magic and Client Server (CRMS) as well as other digital health systems with a new leading- edge Health Information System (HIS). This project will be the largest health care system implementation ever launched in Newfoundland and Labrador. EPIC has been selected as the preferred digital health solution for this HIS project. This transformational change will allow us to join other Canadian provinces in the modernization of our provincial health information system. In support of the HIS project, it has been determined that the NL Health Services will require recruitment for positions in Clinical Informatics. About the Role As a Clinical Pharmacist IIA you will be assigned to the Beacon (Oncology) Application . The Clinical Pharmacist IIA will build and validate chemotherapy regimens as beacon protocols. The Clinical Pharmacist IIA integrates with a variety of systems, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, and inpatient. The Clinical Pharmacist IIA will be expected to be cross trained between 1-2 applications. Travel to Wisconsin (United States) for training is an expectation of this position. The scheduled date for this training will be determined based on Epic's fall training schedule. A valid passport will be required. Travel within the province for on site build weeks, site visits, training, etc. will also be expected. The Clinical Pharmacist IIA reports directly to the Informatics Manager- Specialized Clinical . You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Build and validate chemotherapy regimens as beacon protocols. Work with other clinical applications being installed to identify ways in which those applications can support our clinical pharmacy workflows and configuring the application accordingly Analyze our distribution workflows and configuring the system to support these workflows Coordinate the interface between Pharmacy application and dispensing cabinet Work with the Physician, Nursing, Allied Health and Leadership Champions Coordinates/oversees project-related activities, and tasks assigned to analysts. Coordinate and communicating with our end users and representatives from ancillary departments, such as lab, radiology, and pharmacy Understand the objectives for implementing an HIS and can recognize opportunities for process redesign that will help our organization maximize the benefits of the implementation Understand and account for a vast array of integration points.
