MANAGER, PLANNING & SERVICE DELIVERY(Permanent Full Time)Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive and livable community.The District West Vancouver?s Transit Department is currently seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Planning & Service Delivery. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transit, this position will be responsible for: Developing, implementing and managing plans, processes, systems and evaluation criteria to support and engage staff; Developing and implementing plans for new or existing routes and additional trips; Developing and implementing public timetable changes and employee shift assignments; Determining costs and requests for funding; Participating in the planning and supervision of major local events; Responding to public inquiries, requests, complaints and commendations; Building and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders; Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of department operating and capital budgets in conjunction with other Transit Management; Providing direction to employees by planning, assigning and supervising; Managing dispatchers and operators, along with facility and systems management; Representing the Department in employees and labour relations matters; and, Performing other related work as required.The successful candidate will possess: A degree in a related discipline supplemented by related courses in supervision and management training; Considerable related experience with some supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Motor Vehicle Act, Human Rights Code, Workers Compensation Act, and WorkSafe Occupational Health and Safety Regulations; Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with unions, employees, the public, officials, and other stakeholders; and, A valid Class 5 Driver?s License for the Province of British Columbia.The preferred candidate will have sound judgment and diplomacy, ability to provide progressive leadership, and aptitude to create an inclusive work environment.
