Position Title: Industrial Electrician Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Florenceville Potato Requisition ID: 33266 McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville, New Brunswick Potato Plant Facility has an immediate opening for a Licensed Shift Electrician to join the maintenance team. The position is responsible for setup and changeover processing equipment, perform all assigned predictive and preventive maintenance tasks, perform food safety verifications, and troubleshoot and resolve electrical/communication issues.Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:Actively contribute to the "TEAM" by working diligently to correct and prevent any electrical (and mechanical) problems , especially where there is a safety or food safety riskMust work closely with production to keep line running with minimum downtimeMust comply with safe practices prior to working on any equipment (e.g., Lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.)Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems effectivelyComply and promote food safety (Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP)Must report all food safety risks or safety problemsIdentifying, detecting and documenting all potential maintenance repair problemsMust be able and willing to promote continuous improvement of workplace safetyAll other duties as assignedSkills/Qualifications include:Must be a fully Licensed Industrial Electrician with experience in manufacturing and process industriesPLC troubleshooting experience (Rockwell/Allen Bradley) Self-motivated, detail oriented, with good organizing and coordinating skillsObservant and detail-minded with a natural sense of urgency.Effective Verbal and Written communication skills are essentialAbility to work with minimum supervision.Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate "safety first." Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate's suitability to the position.
