Position #: V25070 Expected Start Date: December 16, 2024 Union: HSAS Facility: Mental Health & Addiction Services City/Town: Regina Department: Addictions Treatment Centre Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Hours of Work: 8 hour shiftsShift Information: days Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Degree $34.509 to $42.199 Travel Required: YesHuman Resources Exemption: No Job Description: As a member of the Adult services team and under the general direction of the Manager the primary goal will be to assess, counsel and develop comprehensive recovery and case management plans which will restore, maintain or enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues. Responsibilities will include the provision of best practice methodology to assess & screen clients, and to provide individual & group counseling. The position will be expected to provide educational sessions and group therapy in the Day Treatment Program as required. Education- Degree in Chemical Dependency studies or BSW are preferred.- Additional Baccalaureate degrees (generally social sciences or human services) acceptable to the employer may also be considered if candidate has relevant experience. These would include a Bachelors in Psychology, Human Justice and Psych Nursing.Experience- Experience with group therapy and addiction assessments and interventions- Clinical experience is preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.- A strong knowledge of the best practices associated with treating substance dependence and/or substance dependence related issues and the effects on families and the community.- Ability to accurately assess substance dependence and/or substance dependence related issues...For more information on this job, please visit the employer's website.- LocationRegina, SK
