Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Millwork/pre-fab shopwork. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat.
