Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Platework manufacturing company. Structural steel fabrication company. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Equipment and machinery experience: AutoCAD. Brakes. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Saws. Shears. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Cutting machine. Drawing. Forming. Punching. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Drug test. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
