<p> INDIGENOUS EDUCATION MANAGER Start Date: As Soon as Possible <p>Location: To Be Determined <p>Hours of Work: 35 hours/week <p>Salary: $123,310.61 - $135,182.80 with competitive pension and benefits package <p>Position Description: <p>SNCDSB is looking for a strong, dynamic individual with experience in the Education Sector and strong, innovative leadership in the area of Indigenous Education. The Indigenous Education Manager position is a 12-month position, and will report to the Superintendent of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for connecting and engaging First Nation, Metis, Inuit (FNMI) students, parents/guardians, schools and communities with a focus on creating a culture of caring and learning. <p>Overall Roles and Responsibilities: <p> Work collaboratively with all partners for continuous improvement in student achievement and well- being; <p> Organize student and community activities with a diverse cultural focus; <p> Work with other Student Support Team members and school leaders to provide support and current resources to enhance student learning in Indigenous Education across all subject areas; <p> Share information and best practices that align and support the implementation of the Multi Year Strategic Plan and Indigenous Education Board Action Plan; <p> Liasoning with local community Elders and Knowledge Keepers; <p> Impart in-depth knowledge of Indigenous traditions, culture and practices; <p> Collaborate with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations to improve partnerships within the SNCDSB; <p> Supporting SNCDSBs Indigenous Education Advisory Committee (IEAC) and SNCDSB Elders Council; <p> Work with classroom educators to provide community-based prevention and intervention services and activities to support the academic, social, spiritual and emotional learning of all students at the elementary school level; <p> Extensive travel throughout the district will be expected; and <p> Other duties as assigned to support Indigenous education across SNCDSB.<p>Specific Role and Responsibilities: <p> Work with the Superintendent of Education to implement and report on the Indigenous Education Board Action Plan and Ministry reporting as required; <p> Support the implementation of the Ontario First Nations, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework ; <p> Support and play a lead role in the formation, maintenance, and growth of the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee; <p> Support SNCDSB Education Service Agreements and voluntary self-identification; <p> Support the implementation of the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; <p> Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with local First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit communities, including Education Directors; <p> Support the implementation of culturally responsive teaching practices and resources in classrooms; <p> Actively participate in Board meetings to provide updates on Indigenous Education initiatives and share progress on strategic goals; <p> Engage in Executive Council meetings to contribute to system-level planning, decision-making, and policy development related to Indigenous Education; <p> Monitor and analyze data related to Indigenous student achievement and well-being to inform decision-making and continuous improvement; <p> Support Indigenous Language and Indigenous Language Teachers; and <p> Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Education.<p>Preferred Abilities, Experience and Qualification: <p> Proficiency in oral and or written Ojibwe preferred; <p> Strategic Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills; <p> Excellent c
