Responsibilities
Tasks

Collect blood, tissue or other samples from patients

Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine and other body fluids

Document observations on patients' specimens

Examine the results of the tests

Log patient samples and prepare them for testing

Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses
-
Establish procedures for analysis of specimens and for medical laboratory experiments

Clean and maintain medical laboratory and laboratory equipment
-
Perform blood group, type and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes

Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques

Set up medical laboratory equipment
