The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students<p>(K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff. <p><p> <p>We currently have a 0.4.(FTE), Temporary SLP available<p>for January 2025 June 2025. <p><p> <p> Job<p>Description: <p><p> <p>Speech-Language Pathologists are members of the Learning<p>Services Department. In addition to being well organized and capable of working<p>independently, the successful applicant will possess the skills necessary to<p>work as a collaborative team member at school and district levels. All<p>positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District's<p>Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Inspired Learners and<p>Strategic Priority 2: Equity and Inclusion.<p><p> <p>In the Richmond School District, a speech-language<p>pathologist provides support to students in both elementary and secondary<p>schools and will be required to support students with communication challenges<p>across a wide spectrum of needs. The ability to work comfortably and<p>effectively in a dynamic and changing environment is essential.<p><p> <p>The successful candidate will also:<p><p> <p><p> Design and implement individual/small group/classroom intervention strategies for students with communication challenges<p> Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs or Student Learning Plans<p> Provide ongoing collaborative consultation with school-based teams (teachers, educational assistants, administrators), parents and community agencies<p> Complete informal assessments and observations, as well as standardized assessments with written reports presented at debriefing meetings<p> Work with the SLP team and Learning Services Department to plan, implement and participate in professional learning opportunities related to communication at the school and district level<p><p><p> <p>Qualifications: <p><p> <p>The successful applicant will possess the qualifications<p>necessary to become and maintain membership of the College of Speech and<p>Hearing Health Professionals of BC.<p><p> <p>If you have any questions about this position, please<p>contact Sarah Loat, District Administrator Inclusive Learning.
