Living Sky School Division is located in Northwest Central Saskatchewan, within Treaty 6 Territory. The division covers a vast geographical area, including the Battlefords, numerous communities, villages, First Nations, and Hutterite colonies. Currently, we operate 28 schools across 19 communities, offering PreK-12, elementary, high school, and alternate school programs. Our student population is approximately 5,300, and our diverse schools provide a variety of programs to meet both the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and the local needs of our communities.<p>Living Sky School Division is seeking to contract a Tutor to support students with learning disabilities by providing online tutoring using the Barton Reading Program . The contract will start as soon as possible and last approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The position requires 5 hours of work per day, Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays.<p>The Barton Reading Program is designed to assist school-aged children with reading disabilities, such as dyslexia. It focuses on improving reading, writing, and spelling skills through personalized one-on-one tutoring. The program uses the proven Orton-Gillingham method , which teaches the phonemic structure of the English language using a multi-sensory approach. This method engages visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic senses to support learners who benefit from a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. The individualized nature of the program ensures that each student progresses at their own pace, addressing their unique literacy needs effectively.<p>While prior experience with the Barton Program is preferred, we welcome applications from candidates who are eager to learn.
