The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for an enthusiastic Community Recreation Programmer to join our team! Under the guidance of the Community Culture and Recreation Manager, the Community Recreation Programmer will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a wide array of recreation and cultural programs, seasonal events, and community activities. This dynamic role includes supervising and training staff and contractors to deliver exceptional services to our community.This position requires flexible availability, including weekdays and weekends, as well as daytime and nighttime shifts. Requirements: Recreation/Leisure diploma or equivalent related education and experience with 2 years? related experience in program/lesson, planning, scheduling and implementation, preferably with a recreation service delivery model. Valid Class 5 BC Driver?s license. Compliance with and approval of a Criminal Record Search (including Vulnerable Sector). Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and the Adobe suite. What You?ll Do: Develop and execute a variety of recreation and seasonal events. Schedule, train, and oversee assistants, instructors, and contractors to ensure quality program delivery. Promote community programs. Handle administrative tasks: Manage program registration, records, reporting, facility scheduling, and compiling statistics. Assisting with volleyball league schedules and stats. The ideal candidate possesses the capacity to perform all duties in a safe manner while fostering positive relationships with both the public and fellow staff.
