Plumber<p> Continuing Position<p>(Subject to Internal Staffing Process)<p>The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $210 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, administrators, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.<p>The Greater Victoria School District is currently seeking applications for a Plumber with the following qualifications:<p><p> Legally able to work in Canada<p> Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience<p> Must possess a Certificate of Apprenticeship in plumbing as issued or recognized by the Province of BC or a Certificate of Trade Qualification in Plumbing as issued or recognized by the Province of BC<p> Must possess a Certificate of Qualification to perform the duties of a Class B Gas Fitter as issued by Technical Safety BC. A Class A Gas ticket would be an asset.<p> Must possess a valid BC driver?s license<p> Completion of four or more years specific experience in similar duties as required<p> Must be physically able to perform all duties as noted in the job description<p> Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions<p> Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of partners in a leadership role. Partners could include principals, teachers, students, parents, office staff and facilities staff, etc.<p> Maintain a cooperative working relationship with other workers, supervisory and teaching staff, students and the public<p> Certification in backflow prevention devices would be an asset<p><p> This continuing position falls within the CUPE 382 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $37.90 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package upon successful completion of probation.
