<p>Job Summary & Responsibilities <p><p> <p>Reporting to CORE, itinerant ELL teachers work directly with English language learners at assigned elementary, middle and/or secondary schools. As a contributing member of the District English Language Learning team, the successful applicant is required to generate AIPs using appropriate testing materials such as IPT or BC ELL Standards. They will model culturally responsive teaching and support English language learners with inquiry-based learning.<p>Education & Experience<p> <p><p> Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program<p> Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certification<p> Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments<p> Experience teaching ELL learners at the elementary, middle or secondary school levels<p> Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition<p> Experience with the blended model of instruction to support English language acquisition <p> Experience implementing the full cycle of teacher collaboration (leading collaboration meetings, Co-teaching, co-assessing, co-planning)<p> Experience building connections and presenting to stakeholders (school-based teams, District departments, parents, community services, etc.)<p> Valid BC Driver's license and access to personal vehicle<p> Eligible for B.C. Certification<p> Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports<p><p> <p>Teaching Competencies<p><p><p>All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:<p><p><p><p> Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner. <p> Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment <p> Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics. <p> Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students? interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning <p> Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies. <p> Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives <p> Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students <p> Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances <p><p>View Teaching Competencies Detail
