*Overview* Reporting to the Manager of Client Care & Logistics, the Addiction Counsellor 2 is responsible for delivering high quality addiction treatment. The incumbent is a part of a collaborative treatment team that provides group facilitation and individual counselling sessions to individuals accessing services. The Addiction Counsellor 2 will therapeutically respond to individual and collective needs and collaboratively formulate treatment plans and promote health and progress in a clients? journey. The successful candidate will be registered in a professional regulatory body and have demonstrated capacity working with individuals experiencing Addiction and Mental Health issues. Additionally, this position will participate in weekly clinical meetings, be responsible for maintaining a professional and ethical framework and engage in ongoing learning to elevate clinical knowledge and application. This position will participate in occasional community initiatives and/or tables that strengthen service delivery. The Addictions Counsellor is also responsible for site security/maintenance (light duties that can be safely performed), housekeeping/food service, inventory control, administrative duties, fundraising (as requested during work hours), and community relations (promoting HPC to others). This position will provide service in both bed-based and community-based programs. *Working Schedule * Typical working schedule is Monday-Sunday (Assignment based on program/organizational need). Includes daytime and/or evening hours but not overnights; typically includes weekdays and/or weekends and may include statutory holidays with advance notice) *What We Offer* A competitive salary with a benefits package that includes: * 72-hour pay period; 5 days, 4 days * Healthcare Spending Account of $2,000 valuation; 1 year waiting period * Paid Statutory holidays * 3% Personal Leave, 72 hours maximum per year; equivalent to 9 working days * Single benefit coverage; 3 month waiting period * RRSP with 3% employer match; 3 month waiting period * Paid holidays and generous time-off * Voluntary Spiritual Self-Care Sessions *Role and Responsibilities* * To be a resource, role model, leader and mentor to employees? on your team * To provide formal mentorship to staff members throughout the entire employee lifecycle, which includes direct and constructive feedback, encouragement, coaching and knowledge sharing on a daily basis * To execute coaching objectives as per Managers? direction * To provide critical information and feedback to Manager on a bi-weekly basis on individual performance trends/themes that arise that could serve as an avenue for coaching, development and refinement * Alert Manager on any issues that could have a direct impact on quality care and provide solutions on how to respond and mitigate the existing challenge * Maintain a higher acuity clinical profile as a sign of your elevated skill set and expertise * To co-facilitate clinical team meetings or be the designate facilitator in the Managers? absence * To contribute to policy development and/or revisions when required * Provide consultation to leadership team when required on key initiatives in the organization on a bi-annual basis * To lend a clinical lens and perspective to internal and external committees? and stakeholders as required * To contribute to the development of the program content and schedule * To provide insight and recommendations on how processes involved in programs and services and community outpatient department could be improved * If within your scope and department of practice, conduct assessments and intake interviews * Oversee the execution of synopsis and communicate relevant information to Manager and live-in treatment team * Manage the medication management processes upon confirmation of entry * Co-design treatment plan, transitional plan that is aligned with client assessment, presenting problem and desired outcome * Provide/facilitate group a- LocationHornby, ON
