SYSTEMS ENGINEER <p> 1.0 FTE Permanent position <p> Salary Range - $93,038 - $116,301 per year <p> The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time permanent position of Systems Engineer to work as a member of the senior technical team within Information Technology Services (ITS). The successful candidate will provide technical support, supervision, leadership, and project management, in a multi-functional role. Areas of responsibility may include networking, communications, cloud computing, server support, identity management, endpoint management, network/systems monitoring. This position will require the successful candidate to work full-time in the office (non-remote).<p> Responsibilities: <p> Designing, configuring, installing, testing, and managing network systems and infrastructure.<p> Designing, configuring, installing, testing, and managing of network monitoring systems and infrastructure.<p> Support and administration of network attached surveillance and IoT systems.<p> Provide support (or backup support) for other responsibilities within the senior ITS team, such as security, identity management, cloud computing, server support.<p> Other duties as assigned.<p> Qualifications and Skills Required: <p> University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.<p> A minimum of five (5) years' related working experience in a large complex public sector organization, preferably in an educational environment.<p> Certification and/or proven experience and support with LAN/WAN technologies.<p> Certification and/or proven experience and support with Fortinet technologies.<p> Certifications in computer and technology related field, such as Microsoft Server (minimum 2012), Networking, Virtualization and/or security.<p> Experience with process automation using PowerShell and/or other scripting tools.<p> Experience with Linux operating systems.<p> Excellent team leadership and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment; exceptional problem-solving skills and works well under pressure to meet aggressive timelines and resolve critical issues and excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.<p> A valid drivers license and reliable vehicle are required as this position requires regular travel throughout the County.<p>TESTING MAY BE REQUIRED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS. <p> This is a permanent position that works twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $93,038 to $116,301 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
