Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Supermarket/grocery store. Tasks: Determine the size of food portions and costs. Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Order supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Portion and wrap foods. Ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out. Create new recipes. Short order cooking and food preparation. Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks.
