Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Maintenance. Repair. Overhaul. Shopwork. Tasks: Assemble mechanical equipment. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Estimate costs and materials. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW). Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Hydraulic system. Lathes and other machining tools. Pneumatic system. Power tools. Welding equipment. Forklift. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication.
