Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Administer medications. Conduct specimen collection. Ensure infection control. Monitor nutritional intake. Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Provide personal care. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. Area of specialization: Geriatrics. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Adult Abuse Registry check. Vulnerable sector check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods.
