Overlanders Manufacturing is looking to hire full time EXPERIENCED Powder Coater for our Manufacturing Facility located in Abbotsford, BC. *Job Description:* As a Powder Coater in a Sheet Metal Manufacturing Shop, your primary responsibility is to apply powder coatings to sheet metal components, ensuring they meet the required quality standards. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the appearance and durability of the finished products. *Duties and Responsibilities*: 1. Powder Coating Application: Apply powder coatings to sheet metal components using electrostatic spray gun. Ensure consistent and even coating thickness to achieve the desired finish. 2. Surface Preparation: Prepare the sheet metal surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, and treating them appropriately. Remove any impurities, grease, or previous coatings to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish. 3. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens. Perform regular inspections and troubleshoot any issues to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. 4. Quality Control: Inspect coated sheet metal components for any defects, such as uneven coating, drips, or color inconsistencies. Follow established quality control procedures and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired finish and adherence to customer specifications. 5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling chemicals, operating equipment, and working in the powder coating booth. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a clean and safe working environment. 6. Inventory Management: Monitor and report inventory levels of powder coatings, chemicals, and supplies used in the powder coating process. Coordinate with the Supervisor to ensure an adequate supply of materials. 7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of powder coating processes, including coating specifications, batch numbers, and inspection results 8. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the powder coating process, such as uneven coating, adhesion problems, or equipment malfunctions.
