The Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Downtown, is conveniently situated in downtown Ottawa, steps from Parliament Hill with LRT transportation at the hotel?s front door for easy access to many points of interest including festival venues. The hotel features 171 extended-stay guest rooms under the Homewood Suites by Hilton banner and 175 units providing short-stay accommodations under the Hilton Garden Inn banner and a total of 4,500 square feet of conference space, which includes our Tulip restaurant and bar, a pool and fitness facility.
We are currently seeking a full-time Executive Housekeeper to join our team through our management partnership with JDI Building Services.

*Role Summary:*
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the entire Housekeeping operations. This includes providing leadership to approximately 60-70 unionized staff and collaborating with team members across multiple departments to ensure the hotel consistently maintains the highest cleaning standards in guestrooms, meeting space, F&B outlets, hotel common space, guest corridors, public washrooms, pool and fitness centre, and employee areas.
*Responsibilities*
· Oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping department
· Inspire and motivate all employees to achieve mutual goals
· Create and communicate weekly schedules for entire Housekeeping & Laundry Teams in accordance to the collective agreement and business demands for daily cleaning activities.
· Coordinate and execute hotel routine deep cleaning with Maintenance department
· Review guest scores on a daily basis and implement improvement plans where applicable
· Host departmental meetings and participate in other hotel meetings when required
· Conduct quality inspections of guestrooms and common areas to ensure compliance with brand standards
· Effectively communicate and collaborate with all hotel departments
· Ensure hotel maintenance issues are reported immediately to be resolved
· QA Quality Assurance: Audit and deep clean all guestrooms twice per year, review brand standards on a regular basis, etc
· Ensure work tools and products are available in sufficient quantity and used properly
· Lead the recruitment, hiring and onboarding process of new hires
· Address any disciplinary concerns promptly to ensure accountability
· Perform staff evaluations and improvement plans where necessary
· Ensure the proper functioning and safety of equipment
· Ensure that safe work techniques are applied and that the wearing of PPE complies with the procedures in place
· Ensure compliance with allocated budgets and provide the information required for cost analysis
· Administer payroll and perform other administrative duties and reports as required
· Manage supplies inventories and place monthly orders
· Train and coach employees to optimize job performance and positive workplace
· Perform all other related tasks at the request of the immediate superior
*Requirements:*
· Minimum 2 years of Hotel Management experience in Rooms Divisions
· Positive and outgoing personality with ability to motivate a large diverse team
· Able to work under pressure, make decisions and manage problems effectively and in a timely manner
· Strong attention to detail
· Self-starter that takes initiative and uses discretion
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong emotional and cultural intelligence
