Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Professionalism in customer service. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Pay and receive payments for goods. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Spray injection patcher. Stone slinger. Concrete mixing. Dump truck. Surface mining dump, off-highway. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Personal suitability: Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability.
