Permanent Part-Time<p>Basic Custodian<p><p><p>Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provides first class education to students and families throughout Huron and Perth Counties. I am engaged. <p>Our vision is to engage, inspire, innovate, because we are always learning. <p><p>We are accepting applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Basic Custodian position.<p>Start Date: Immediately<p>Home Base School: Sprucedale Public School<p>Compensation Package Details: <p>Rate of pay: $25.10-25.59 in accordance with the Basic Custodial grid, as outlined in the UNIFOR Collective Agreement.<p>Hours of Work: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, 12 months per year. Shift work is required. <p>Responsibilities: <p>The Basic Custodian duties may include:<p>Building Maintenance<p><p><p> change lights<p> shovel snow<p> operate snow blower<p> clean and inspect roof<p> operate grass cutting equipment<p> perform minor repairs<p> conduct health and safety checks<p> service roof top unit<p><p><p>Building Cleaning<p><p><p> operate and maintain all equipment<p> perform all minor and major cleaning <p><p><p>Qualifications: <p>The ideal candidate should possess:<p><p><p> the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding;<p> mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry;<p> exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills;<p> the ability to use a computer e.g., GAFE;<p> experience in handling machinery i.e., buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers;<p> knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies; and,<p> satisfactory attendance will be a consideration when awarding this position. <p><p><p>Note - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.<p><p>Why Join AMDSB?<p><p><p> We believe our students are at the core of what we do; we are committed to creating inclusive, inspiring and innovative learning environments.<p> Great work culture with staff who embrace and seek meaningful careers. <p> Work with a diverse and dynamic team that fosters a culture of belonging and collaboration.<p> Competitive compensation package, which is outlined above. <p><p><p>Join our team!
