As First Class Mechanic, you will inspect, maintain, repair, Forklifts/Lift Trucks in a safe matter, taking safety as the number one priority. </p><p><b>Job Responsibilities</b></p><p>- Perform minor and major repairs, and scheduled preventive maintenance on Forklifts/Lift Trucks.</p><p>- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures, operate computers which control and monitor mechanical equipment.</p><p>- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required, perform assignments in general maintenance such as: changing batteries in the industrial lift equipment or building maintenance duties, house keeping, filing, and other general duties at our Distribution Centres. </p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>- You will provide your own basic tools of the trade and safety shoes. </p><p>- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic skills - working with hands, and power tools.</p><p>- Hold a current and valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification, recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario; Automotive Service Tech, or Truck and Coach Tech, or Powered Lift Truck Tech. </p><p>- Good communication skills - read, write and speak English.</p><p>- 3 - 5 years trades experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.</p><p>- Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, afternoons and nights) and weekends is a must, and all other assigned duties.<br> </p><p>IND2</p><p> </p><div><span><em><strong>Metro values, respects and leverages the differences and competences of all employees from a variety of different backgrounds.
