*The Opportunity*
Located in Barrie Ontario and reporting directly to the President & CEO and with dotted line reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for All Things HR. The role will include leading and supporting a variety of Recruitment and Employee Engagement Initiatives, Policy Creation and Implementation, Employee onboarding and orientation, Corporate Culture and Internal Brand building Initiatives, Benefit plan review and Administration, Compensation and Policy Benchmarking, Job description & Job evaluation review process planning and implementation, and HR metrics to recommend best practices.
Recruitment and Employee Engagement:
* Lead and/or support full cycle recruitment and selection process that drives top talent into the organization, including drafting of job postings, identifying recruitment strategies, scheduling and conducting interviews and reference checks and ultimately making selection decisions
* Conduct and coordinate all new hire orientation and lead a robust employee onboarding
* Source passive candidates through formal and informal internet searches, database mining and using social media such as Linked-In and Indeed
* Participate in job fairs and other networking events
* Develop relationships and liaise with recruitment agencies, educational institutions and other third party suppliers
Total Compensation (Payroll and Benefit Administration):
* Administration of the company benefit plan by processing enrollments, revisions, and terminations
* Attend annual benefit renewal analyses and meetings
* Responsible for assessing benefit package quality and pricing in the market and comparing it to the company?s current package
* Bi-weekly processing of payroll through ADP for all team members ? salaried, hourly and commission based
* Completion of the monthly benefit bill reconciliation
* Help team member with issues/inquiries relating to pay and benefits
Health and Safety
* As part of the EMC Safety group, creation and implementations of all required health and safety policies and procedures and training all employees on applicable polices as required
* Oversee required legislated health and safety related training for employees and ensure all required certifications are obtained prior to the work performed [example) Elevated Work Platform training before scissor lift use]
* Communicate with WSIB and report any injury/illness/near miss as required
* Schedule and participate in all monthly workplace inspections with the JHSC and ensure any follow-up items from the meeting are actioned
* Support the JHSC with Occupational Health and Safety management requirements
* Track and interpret provincial laws and regulations and relevant standards to ensure policies and procedures are updated accordingly
* Facilitate any return-to-work programs for injured or ill team members as required
Corporate Culture
· Implement programs that contribute to employee engagement, retention, and development to ensure that TLC is a place where people can do their best work
* Manage initiatives related to organizational development, recognition, change management, workplace culture, compensation & benefits, HR compliance, and employee relations
* Coach and partner with employees to develop practices that attract, develop and retain top talent
* Understand TLC?s overall business goals and recommend improvements that help further these objectives and the development of People and Culture within TLC
