(EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) Operations division and the Department of Health and Wellness. As well, EMC operates TeleHealth/811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health.</p><p></p><p>We access all communities in Nova Scotia in a timely and efficient manner with our fleet of more than 180 ambulances and support vehicles operating out of 60+ stations. We respond to 165,000+ calls annually across the province, which are actively managed through the EHS Operations Medical Communications Centre, the hub of all emergency (911) and non-emergency (hospital transfers) medical calls. </p><p></p><p>The EHS Operations LifeFlight program provides even greater accessibility by responding to patients on scene or through inter-facility transports by our critical care team via helicopter, fixed wing, or ground ambulance.</p><p></p><p>In addition, paramedics in Nova Scotia participate in various programs both urban and rural such as community-based paramedic programs, collaborative emergency centres, and emergency preparedness and special operations, to name a few.</p><p></p><p>There are lots of opportunities waiting for you in Nova Scotia. Apply now to learn more about our service and available positions.</p><p><span> *</span></p><p><b>Purpose/Summary</b></p><p>The Education and Training Lead is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of staff orientation and continuing education programs; coordinates staff development activities; for all TeleHealth programs and acts as a patient education consultant. </p><p></p><p>The Education and Training Lead is responsible to develop, implement, update and maintain all standard operating guidelines for both clinical and non-clinical roles within TeleHealth programs, ensuring alignment with current best practice, healthcare partners and meeting Accreditation standards.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Staff Orientation</li><li>Responsible for the coordination, planning, content, delivery and evaluation of all TeleHealth orientations for all roles.</li><li>Liasing with different departments for scheduling and facilitating presentations.</li><li>Monitoring staff progression and escalation when required.</li><li>Maintaining a full orientation record and competency list for all new hires.</li><li>Completing scheduled interval follow ups post orientation ensuring staff success.</li></ul><p></p><p>Ongoing Staff Education</p><ul><li>Responsible for the coordination and planning of ongoing education for all staff roles and tracking of same.</li><li>Ongoing staff education includes role specific dedicated content as well as general education for all staff.</li><li>Planning monthly education sessions for staff.</li><li>Sending out monthly education reminders to staff.</li><li>Working with healthcare partners in facilitating education for staff.</li><li>Responsible as the TeleHealth Itacit subject matter expert and ensuring all required education is available on Itacit and the updating of same.</li></ul><p>The development, oversight and mentorship of multiple precepting teams.</p><ul><li>Responsible for the development and maintenance of all documentation as it relates to the preceptorship programs within TeleHealth.</li><li>Coordinates and plans regular preceptor meetings and provides coaching and feedback to preceptors.</li><li>Responsible for ongoing education of the preceptor team.</li><li>This role has oversight over all preceptors and tracking progress within the role, pro- LocationDartmouth, NS
