Due to the nature of operating in the public eye, a high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is always expected. The EMR is required to conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with the responsibility of conduct justification to patients, family members, hospitals staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more. As an employee of MHS, you are accountable to our patients, coworkers, and management by supporting all safety-related initiatives, as well as fostering a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>DUTIES AND TASKS </span></b></p><p></p><p><b><span>Non-Emergency Transport</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Maintain personal knowledge and skills, in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Competency Profile (AOCP), to deliver optimum patient care.</span></li><li><span>Safely operate MHS - West vehicles in accordance with MHS - West Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and all provincial and federal regulations.</span></li><li><span>Stocks and maintains vehicles in a state of readiness at all times.</span></li><li><span>Work in hazardous environments to ensure the safety of the patient.</span></li><li><span>Work with outside agencies as a team in a coordinated effort on behalf of the patient.</span></li><li><span>Document all patient care, assessments, and skills, within the patient care report in a timely and legible fashion.</span></li><li><span>Punctual and ready to respond at the start of their shift.</span></li><li><span>Act in a professional manner and handle conflict situations with good judgment.</span></li><li><span>Follow the MHS - West chain of command.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Communication</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Create and maintain fully completed patient care reports. (ePCRs)</span></li><li><span>Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with all provincial and federal regulations.</span></li><li><span>Refer all media requests to the General Manager of MHS - West</span></li><li><span>Report all incidents and complete written incident report forms to General Manager of MHS - West or designate.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Education</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Maintain educational competencies as required by the Alberta College of Paramedics</span></li><li><span>Maintains functional awareness of MHS - West Operational Guidelines, and AHS medical control guidelines.</span></li><li><span>Participates actively in MHS - West Quality Assurance Program.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Physical Ability</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Must be in good physical health
