CNC (computer numerical control) machinist

Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Aviation/aerospace manufacturing. Aviation/aerospace repair and overhaul. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Repair machine tools and parts. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Machinist Red Seal Endorsment. Equipment and machinery experience: Tool grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Overtime required.
