Nova Networks is hiring an Deskside Support Technician for a client in the Ottawa Valley. Must have a vehicle as travel is required.
As a Deskside Support Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Installation and support of Windows based desktops, laptops and peripherals, as well as IMAC support
* Resolution of software issues as they relate to Windows OS
* System maintenance and recovery tasks
* Providing general troubleshooting on OS ensuring functionality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must demonstrate a professional manner at all times.
Duties include but not limited to:
* Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve Microsoft Windows hardware and software problems
* Display a high-level understanding of Windows operating systems
* Install and configure new PC hardware and software on desktops, laptops and peripherals including card readers, printers, and other peripherals as required
* Ability to Image desktop and mobile computers
* Perform basic computer wired and wireless network troubleshooting
* Interact professionally with clients exhibiting strong customer service skills
* Provide timely project updates as required, and perform time tracking
* Instruct clients in the basic use of hardware/software
* Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
* Will be working in a corporate executive setting and must act and dress accordingly
* Performs other duties as required
Candidate Requirements:
* Five or more years of progressive IT related experience
* Two-year degree from recognized technical institute or college in an IT related field
* A+ certification or other certifications an asset
* Proven troubleshooting skills in PC and Windows environment
* Detailed knowledge of Windows Client OS, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and Enterprise Level Antivirus
* Mobile device management and troubleshooting an asset
* Networking and wireless skills including TCP/IP and DHCP an asset
* Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and written documentation skills
* Reliable vehicle as travel is required in the Ottawa Valley
