Responsibilities: - Dispense prescription medications to patients and provide appropriate medication counseling - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care - Review and interpret prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness - Monitor patient medication therapy for effectiveness and potential adverse reactions - Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records - Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients - Participate in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards Skills: - Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including drug interactions, dosage forms, and therapeutic uses - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff - Attention to detail to accurately interpret prescriptions and dispense medications - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment - Proficient computer skills for medication order entry and record keeping - Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, including medication administration processes Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
