Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Noisy. Confined spaces. Cold/refrigerated. Hot. Wet/damp. Work setting: Fabrication. Various locations. New construction (Pre-engineered). New construction (Not pre-engineered). Re-vamp and renovation. Tasks: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Perform job-site calculations. Signal crane operators to position units according to blueprints. Align, weld or bolt units in place. Unload and position steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Ironworker Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Ironworker Red Seal Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Forklift Operator Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Area of specialization: Erect structural steel. Install reinforcing steel. Install pre and post-tensioned cables. Assemble and erect metal buildings. Structural metal or steel. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines.
