Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Dusty. Dangerous. Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Residential. Tasks: Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel. Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Install sheet metal flashings. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Roofer Trade Certification. Working at heights training. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Area of specialization: Shingled roofs. Skylights. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads.
