Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Child welfare. Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance). Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Programs dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Work setting: Work in employer's/client's home. Various locations. Rural area. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Supervise children's visits with parents to ensure their safety. Implement behaviour management programs. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Community disability studies Certificate. Emergency child care first aid and CPR. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate. Target audience: Children. Elderly. Families. Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Persons with an intellectual disability.
