To ensure continued success as a leader in education and <p>innovation, Winnipeg School Division is committed to finding and developing the right people to <p>join our team.<p>This is a full-time term position, under the supervision and direction of the Assistant <p>Superintendent of Indigenous Education, the Service Director of Indigenous Education shall be <p>responsible for the administration and effective operations of Indigenous Education in Winnipeg <p>School Division.<p><p>Start Date: December 2, 2024 <p><p>Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: <p> Provide leadership, direction, and common vision for Indigenous Education in Winnipeg School <p>Division;<p>? Within the Division?s Indigenous Education Policy, set goals and direction for Indigenous <p>Education to provide appropriate educational programing for all students, with specific planning <p>and intention for Indigenous student success;<p>? Oversee comprehensive planning, coordination, development, and evaluation of the continuum of <p>Indigenous programming, supports and services to meet the needs of students, families, and schools;<p>? Identify general system needs related to staffing, programming, and learning environments as <p>they pertain to restoring relationships, infusing Indigenous perspectives, and Indigenous student <p>academic achievement;<p>? Apply research and best practices informing learning design conducive to the needs of Indigenous <p>students as well as supports environments providing approach to restoring relationships in the <p>classroom;<p>? Identify needs and lead the development, organization, and implementation of all program <p>planning pertaining to the academic achievement of Indigenous students;<p>? Identify needs and lead the development, organization, and implementation of all program <p>planning pertaining to restoring relationships at all levels of the school system;<p>? Demonstrate advocacy and commitment to continuous improvement and high achievement for <p>Indigenous students;<p>? Provide direction and support to schools in the establishment of a continuum of proactive, <p>responsive, and intensive supports related to Indigenous student belonging, well-being, and mental <p>health;<p>? Develop models of support responsive to the specific needs of Indigenous students embedding <p>Indigenous ways of knowing, being, living, and learning. Therefore build capacity in schools to <p>understand and accommodate the needs of Indigenous learners;<p>? Coordinate the process and allocation of the Indigenous Academic Achievement Grant for schools <p>to support literacy and numeracy achievement for Indigenous students;<p>? Coordinate with support services (CSS, ISS, external organizations) to oversee the referral and <p>processing procedures and eligibility for Indigenous students to access supports;<p>? Manage the supervision, professional growth and evaluation of the Indigenous Education Team <p>Staff;<p>? Demonstrate cultural awareness, sensitivity, and equity to ensure Indigenous student needs are <p>met;<p>? Use and analyze data to drive decisions and guide to achieve the best student outcome
