We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our squash program as the Head Squash Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in squash coaching, a passion for the sport, and the ability to inspire and mentor players of all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our squash community within a vibrant fitness club environment.
What you will do:
* Develop and oversee a comprehensive squash coaching program tailored to meet the needs of members of all ages and skill levels.
* Plan and deliver individual and group squash lessons, clinics, and training sessions that focus on skill development, strategy, and fitness.
* Conduct player assessments to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and personalized coaching plans.
* Organize and manage leagues, intra-club tournaments, ladder competitions, and other squash events to promote participation and friendly competition.
* Collaborate with the club management team to market and promote the squash program, attract new members, and retain existing members.
* Maintain accurate records of lesson schedules, player progress, and program attendance.
* Ensure the squash courts and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and safe for use at all times.
* Stay informed about current trends, techniques, and best practices in squash coaching and incorporate them into the program as appropriate.
* Provide leadership and guidance to assistant coaches, volunteers, and junior squash players within the program.
* Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages sportsmanship, camaraderie, and a love for the game of squash among club members.
What you need to be successful:
* Previous coaching experience in squash at the club or competitive level.
* Strong knowledge of squash fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with players of all ages and abilities.
* Level 2 and up certification from a recognized coaching organization such as Squash Canada is preferred.
* CPR and First Aid certification.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate lesson schedules and events.
* Passion for promoting the sport of squash and building a vibrant and inclusive squash community within the club.
