Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Load, unload and transport construction materials. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Type of product: Power tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Nail guns. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
